Engineering Transfer Student Center

I am Paul Carbajal a fourth year Mechanical Engineer transfer student from Chaffey College.  The summer before beginning my journey at UCR, I had the opportunity of being a part of HSI Summer Bridge Program.  This program consisted of conducting undergraduate research at UCR specifically within BCOE.  I conducted research under Dr. Princevac’s fire technology lab.  My research project involved an open source software called OpenFoam, which is a computational fluid dynamics software.  I had to determine what parameters went in to conducting fire simulation. Now I am a lead on the design of the gearbox and uprights within FSAE. I plan to do be a part of an internship next summer and possibly be a part of research at UCR. Once I earn my degree I would like to join the industry and keep being a part of a design and manufacturing team or research and development team.
